Bryan grew up in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, the oldest of four boys. After high school, he attended St. Thomas University in Fredericton, earning his Bachelor of Arts with a double major in journalism and English literature in 2008. During his time at STU, Bryan wrote for The Aquinian, the campus newspaper, and performed with The Thomists big band.
He spent the next decade working in media, first with Brunswick News Inc. as a reporter in Woodstock and a copy editor in Saint John, before making the move to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador, and working as a reporter at the local paper.
In 2017 he returned home and decided to change career paths and was accepted to the Faculty of Law at the University of New Brunswick in 2018. While at UNB, he was a member of the campus chapter of Animal Justice, serving as treasurer in 2019-2020. He graduated in May 2021 and joined Lutz Parish Gerrish as an articling student in September 2021.
